This Sunday: “The story of the persistent Canaanite woman has intrigued and puzzled Christians for two thousand years. Sunday Soundbites is a weekly, 90-second radio homily based on the Sunday readings, written and read by Fr. Greg Friedman, O.F.M. Sunday Soundbites is also heard on Catholic radio stations around the country.

This Sunday: What’s behind a story? Specifically, what’s behind today’s Gospel story? There, Jesus meets a Gentile mother, who pleads for an exorcism for her daughter. Surprisingly, Jesus says that his mission is only to Israel. But after the woman persists, Jesus acknowledges her faith and finally grants her petition for healing. So, what’s behind this unusual story? .”
