Below is this week’s gospel Mark 1:40-45 about the healing of the man with leprosy. It is a story that appears is all of the Synoptic Gospels. Below is a post I did a while ago of a of Phillip Yancey talking about his modern day experience with a person who has leprosy. It is a powerful way to start a week of reflection on the subject of Christian Compassion. (The story of Jesus and the man with leprosy can also be found in  Matthew 8:1-4 and Luke 5: 12-15 )

And a leper  came to Jesus, beseeching Him and falling on his knees before Him, and saying, “If You are willing, You can make me clean.”  Moved with compassion, Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.”

Listen below to a short story about Christian compassion as told by best selling Christian writer Philip Yancy.
