As I settled on a final theme for this week’s homily I “borrowed” once again from Fr. Robert Barron.

This line from the description of his latest homily, summed up this feast day perfectly when he said that today’s gospel shows…[the] “wonderful irony … at the heart of the Christian proclamation: the King of the Universe is a crucified criminal, who utterly spends himself in love.”
