Here is my  favorite Mother Teresa quote. It offers a hint at What God is Looking for from us as his good and faith filled servants. Mother Teresa encourages us:

To touch the dying, the poor, the lonely and the unwanted according to the graces we have received and let us not be ashamed or slow to do the humble work.

The part of this teaching that captures my attention is when she challenges us to put aside our pride and to take up the challenge to do the humble work.

Mother Teresa understood that God is not looking for us to change the world. Most of us will not become world leaders. God wants us to offer a hand of friendship to the unwanted, the different, the poor and through a gift as simple as a meal we can show kindness to a person the world has judged to be unworthy according to the graces we have been given. God wants us  to do the humble work of his kingdom.

As I sit to write my homily for this weekend this theme- What is God Look for? – is an essential question for all disciples of Christ to reflect on.

God Bless Mother Teresa and her Sisters of Charity order that lives on. Today the Sisters of Charity operate in over 100 countries selfishly caring for the disabled and sick orphans.
